Book Clutches

BookClutch

I’ve been drooling over these Kate Spade clutches for years, and the brand has just started promoting them again (and put The Great Gatsby on sale, just in time for the movie!).

These clutches are the perfect way to show a bit of personality (and your love for the literary arts) while out and about–I would personally love to pair it with a more formal dress for a wedding or other fancier occasion.

The clutches come in The Great Gatsby, Romeo and Juliet, Emma, The Importance of Being Earnest, I Married Adventure, and A Tale of Two Cities. At $325, the clutches are a bit pricey. If it’s too much for you and you like to get crafty, you can always make your own (and bonus, you can pick the book of your choice!).

Colorful Pixelated Fashion from Kate Spade

420_NTW_Sampler_01

Is once a week too often to blog about something from Kate Spade or it’s more affordable line, Saturday? If they keep putting out products that are subtly geeky, then I’ll blog about ‘em every day!

You may remember their “Windowpane” print from last week, a DIY-Pixelated-Art look. Now they’ve released an “already colored in” look that’s abstract and adorable. The Sampler Print is available on clothing (dresses, pants, skirts) accessories (bags, watches, shoes) and home goods (blankets, pillows, mugs). Prices range from $8-$180. Check it all out at Saturday.com!

Custom Pixelated Fashion from Kate Spade

Kate Spade’s more affordable line, Saturday, announced a new print today. Although they call it “windowpane,” I see pixels. Pixels that can be colored in and customized however you may want. Sweet!

The line includes bags, scarves, pillows, shirts, jeans, and even shoes. What pattern or design would you create with it? I think I’d go for a giant 8-Bit heart, myself.

Saturday’s Windowpane collection ranges in price from $25-180. Available at Saturday.com.

Comic-Inspired Kate Spade Bag

Kate Spade now has some comic-inspired items in her online shop, and like everything else there, it’s adorable and most likely out of my budget. But it never hurts to look!

Enjoy this Pop Gia along with other fun, brightly colored accessories at katespade.com. It’s a nice change from the ridiculously foggy and gray week Seattle’s been having.

The GH Wishlist: Kate Spade

The Geeky Hostess will be posting her holiday wishlists at some of her favorite online shops over the next week. Use them as a guide to creating your own holiday wish list or find the perfect gift for the geeky host(ess) in your life!

The best possible way to describe Kate Spade is adorkable. The brand is bright, stylish yet quirky, and impeccably packaged. I walked into a Kate Spade store last week and was whisked into a dream world where I was rich and could afford to buy multiple bags and cute dresses on a whim. Unfortunately, I’m not rich and left empty handed. But a girl can dream! Here are a few of her less expensive but totally drool worthy items:

Mini Cluster Ring, $38.
Card shark? This spade ring will be the perfect thing to wear to your next game night. (True story, it took me a while to realize there were spades on everything because it’s in the name of the brand. I just thought they had a favorite suit.)

Importance of Being Earnest Book Clutch, $325.
“I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.” This clutch could fit a small diary and your other essentials while being a great literary conversation starter. Also available in “Romeo and Juliet,” “A Tale of Two Cities,” and “Emma.”

His and Hers glasses, $50.
These aren’t geeky, but I still think they’re awesome. Perfect for those stay-inside-and-be-cozy date nights.

Ace Up Your Sleeve Idiom Bangle, $48.
Although it looks simple from the outside, this bracelet has a secret. I think wearing it would remind me of the figurative aces I have up my sleeve and give me a boost of confidence. Or, you know, it might just be a pretty bracelet.

Air Quote Mittens, $65.
I could up my sarcasm level with these air quote mittens, which I’m sure everyone would totally appreciate. Quotation marks not your thing? I’m also loving the “Hi 5″ Mittens.

What I’m Giving:

This Is The Year Idiom Bangle, $58
Get your girlfriends off to a good start for the new year with this bangle. The inside says “This is the Year to…” and the outside says “play your cards right, lose yourself in a good book, add a twist, make sparks fly”. What a fun reminder!

Check out KateSpade.com for these gifts and more!
